Congratulations to our GSL Linda Edwards on receiving the Silver Wolf Award.

The Silver Wolf is the highest award made by The Scout Association “for services of the most exceptional character.” It is an unrestricted gift of the Chief Scout and is only awarded for service of an exceptional nature. It is not normally awarded until at least a Silver Acorn has been gained. In practise this means that it is seldom awarded for less than 30 years service, although this is not always the case. The award consists of a Silver Wolf suspended from a dark green and yellow neck ribbon.

Linda was invited along to The Pemberton Centre in Rushden on Friday 21st April to be presented with her award. All Districts were represented and included for the first time, District Commissioners giving out County Commissioner Commendations and sharing their stories. There were 5 Silver Acorns, 5 Bar to the Silver Acorns and 3 Silver Wolf awards given out with the citations read out for each person as to the reason why they were receiving these awards.

As a group we should all be very proud to have one of very few holders of the Silver Wolf award as our GSL.
