Back in February, Falcon Pack had a Pack night based on You Shape – where the Cubs have an input into the type of activities we do at Cubs.
The District also organised a competition where a Beaver Colony, Cub Pack and Scout Troop would be awarded £250 for the best entry. The only rules were that the young people had to do the planning and the leader sent the idea in to the judges.
Falcon Pack decided they would like to create a memorial & wildlife garden within the HQ grounds. They spent time planning the layout, drawing designs, thinking of what plants to purchase etc and all the info was sent off to District.
During this years St Georges Day Parade the winners were announced – our idea won the Cub Section!!!!!!!
We were presented with a cheque for £250 which means we can now start work on our project.
The plans are now all being put together so that we can create a space for everyone to enjoy – including wildlife. This will be an ongoing project with new plants being planted throughout the year.
We are in need of old tyres & pallets so that we can create planters and make a bug hotel.
