Around 3,500 Scouts, Explorers, Guides and Rangers attended the annual winter camp at Gilwell back in January.
Amongst them were our very own Mohawk group. Please see below a couple of photos and a short report from one of
the Scouts who attended.
I went to winter camp for the first time at gilwell it was amazing. It was from the 6 to the 8th of January. At winter camp there was a variety of different activities to do throughout the weekend from horse riding to high wire. Whilst we were there I did not do every think there because there was so much to do; some of the things we did were horse riding (this activity was of the park). Next there was low, medium and high ropes this was good because I was not quite Shure about high ropes so I went from low ropes and up. Another thing we did was rope climbing that involved a rope tied to a tree then there was a special method to climb the rope (I did not get to the top). I think that weekend was amazing and it was everything I could have hoped for. The only bad thing was that the quies were really long but that’s all to expect when it is such a big event with so many people there.
