Many thanks to everyone who turned out on Sunday for the Remembrance service at St Mary’s. The church was full with standing room only. Here’s a few photographs of the parade and the wreath laying at the memorial.
A reminder that the annual Remembrance Parade will take place on Sunday 11th November. Please can we meet at 1.45 in the Churchill Way car park Leaving Churchill Way Car park at 2.00pm. This will be followed by a short service at St Mary’s Church and then the laying of wreaths on the War Memorial at 3.30. Please can all Beavers, Cubs and Scouts make sure they are at the car park by 1.45pm in full uniform.
Falcon pack recently payed a visit to The Bone Crypt at Rothwell Church. During the visit one of the Cubs, Owen was invested. Although he wasn’t to keen at first, when he heard that it would be a first for both the Church and Burton Latimer Scouts he soon changed his mind and said ; “I will go down in history…!!”
We are pleased to announce that this year we will be running a Group Camp in September. It’s been a long time since we had one of these and it is a chance for Beavers, Cubs and Scouts to all get together and enjoy themselves. The camp will be held on 21st -23rd September 2012 at the Sir John Lowther Scout Centre, Kettering. The cost for this camp will be £25.00. Well, as we all know last weekends ‘Duck Race’ was postponed due to the state of the ground down at the Pocket Park. This put the planned ‘Party In The Park’ at risk as this would have been at the Pocket Park as well. Rather than cancel the party we decided to go ahead with it and moved the venue to the Scout Hut.
