As promised here is an update on the recent fund raising activities. Over the Christmas period we managed to raise a fantastic £1,294.40. Christmas Post £675.00 Bag Packing £332.40 Burgers and Hotdogs £287.00 The above numbers are pure profit with any overheads deducted, so again a huge thank you to everyone involved. Fund raising is such an integral part of any Scout Group and without it a lot of the activities and purchasing of essential equipment simply would not happen. Christmas Fund Raising

    A very Happy New Year to everyone. You will be pleased to know that with all of the combined fund raising activities that took place over the Christmas period;   • Christmas Lights Hot Dog and Burger Stall • Sainsbury Bag Packing • Scout Post It looks like we are on the way to raising well over £1000.00 . Remembrance Parade 2011. Sunday 13th November

A reminder that the annual Remembrance Parade will take place on Sunday 13th November. Leaving Churchill Way Car park at 2.30pm. This will be followed by a short service at St Mary’s Church and then the laying of wreaths on the War Memorial at 3.30. Please can all Beavers, Cubs and Scouts make sure they are at the car park by 2pm.

Sainsbury’s Fund Raising

As many of you will know, 1st Burton Scouts were selected as this years chosen charity by Sainsbury’s store in Burton Latimer. Over the last 12 months they have been raising money with a variety of events ranging from in store promotions as well as quiz nights and collections. Last Monday Richard Clarke, our GSL went along to the store along with several of the Beavers, Cubs and Scouts to be presented with a cheque by the store Manager, Wayne Lloyd. The final sum raised was a fantastic £885.00 and a big thankyou goes out to all the staff...
